It's here, everybody speaks about it as a new revolution in computers' world. Let's see whether iPad Mini is so wonderful as it's promoted. After all, the arena of 7-inch tablet is crowded enough, some of them cheaper than Apple's creation, so why spending your money on a reduced iPad?

After months of rumors and speculations, Apple's mini tablet has finally been announced, heating more than ever the 7-inch tablet market. Among Android's gadgets, only the first-generation Kindle Fire and the recently launched Google Nexus 7 were considered worthy to be purchased. iPad mini might be a strong rival, if it weren't for the price tag ($329), but I'm sure retailers will find a way to sweeten the financial pain. But not everyone wants an iPad mini and there are certainly other 7-inch tablets that are worthy.

To help you out, we have put together a selection of best 7-inch tablets, a sort of iPad Mini's war against the world. Obviously, we will start with Google's flagship, Nexus 7, which is quite a deal at $200. Built on Asus Memo 370 infrastructure, the tablet has a 1280×800 IPS display with 226ppi, a 1.3GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, up to 16GB of internal storage (with a rumored 32GB model on its way) and a 1.3MP front-facing camera (unfortunately, not very attractive). Just to make you forget about your disappointment, this tablet is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and ensured that it will be supported for future Android updates.

Besides Google's creation, there is Kindle Fire HD, priced at $199 (or $214 for the ad-free version), a solid and attractive rival. Amazon's tablet comes with a 1.3GHz dual-core OMAP-4460 processor, 1GB RAM, a 1280×800 display, preloaded with Amazon's Appstore, which has limited offerings compared to Google Play store, but it runs a custom version of Ice Cream Sandwich, so you will get somehow what you need. If you devour e-books or you love shopping on Amazon, you have to own it, it's your shortcut to your favorite online store.

Barnes & Noble has just updated its Nook tablet, being available for pre-orders for $199, starting with November 1. Nook HD includes a 1440×900 resolution and a 243ppi display, almost similar to iPad's 264ppi Retina display, fueled by a 1.2GHz dual-core OMAP 4470 processor. Like the Kindle Fire HD, it's based on a version of Ice Cream Sandwich, perfect for dedicated consumers of Barnes and Noble e-book store.

Finally, but not last attractive, there is Acer Iconia Tab A110 ($229), based on a Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, though limited to a 1024×600 display. It also features a microSD expansion slot and micro-HDMI.

In the end of the article, let's welcome the new iPad, that reduced 7.9-inch mini tablet, which makes it one of the largest of the mini-tablets. It looks great like any other iPad, despite its small size, it runs on an A5 chip, but it's limited by its non-Retina 1024×768 display. iPad mini is also incredibly thin, just 7.2mm thin, 23% thinner than the current iPad. At 0.68 pounds and 0.28 inches thick, the tablet is built for portability. As a wireless device, iPad Mini includes almost everything you'd want to see, except for 802.11ac. It supports dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless networking, up to 150 Mbps, besides the high-end iPad Minis include a cellular chip support LTE and DC-HSDPA.

If you're already a faithful Apple user, you won't miss the chance to have it, despite its cost.
